Searching for Normalcy

"And finally, above all else, it is about leaving a mark that I existed: I was here. I was hungry. I was defeated. I was happy. I was sad. I was in love. I was afraid. I was hopeful. I had an idea and I had a good purpose and that’s why I made works of art…" – Felix Gonzalez-Torres

Scrap Challenge January 8, 2010

Filed under: Scrapbooking — Lulu @ 1:14 am

I can’t remember exactly on which blog I saw this, but one of the many scrapbookers whose blogs I read posted a challenge to herself, whereby she will not purchase any new products (except adhesive) until she has made 100 layouts with her current stash of products. I think this is an AWESOME idea! I – along with pretty much every single scrapbooker I know – is guilty of hoarding. We are always buying new stuff without using what we already have on hand. With so many new and beautiful products coming out every day, it’s hard to say no and stick with it.

Anyway, as one of my 2010 “To Do List” items (I hate the word resolutions) is to try and save money, I have decided to take on this challenge as well. And to hold myself accountable for it, I will post all the layouts here. So that’s the deal: 100 new layouts using ONLY products I currently own. And no scrap shopping until that goal is met.

Wish me luck!

Peace out, yo!

Yeah… That sounds so good in theory but I’ve been seeing CHA releases and I definitely can’t make any promises. I do promise to only buy the stuff I truly love. LOL.. Good luck and I can’t wait to see those 100 layouts.

Wow, I admire you girl. That’s a touch challenge, but I can’t wait to see your 100 layouts… when do you start!? I am very guilty of hoarding… sad, but true. I am trying to cut down on spending and not buy as much though!!! Hugs!
