Searching for Normalcy

"And finally, above all else, it is about leaving a mark that I existed: I was here. I was hungry. I was defeated. I was happy. I was sad. I was in love. I was afraid. I was hopeful. I had an idea and I had a good purpose and that’s why I made works of art…" – Felix Gonzalez-Torres

so what happened was… January 22, 2008

December 2007 was a very interesting month for me. I was home (as in, actually IN my house) for all of thirteen days that month. Why?

Well, first there was that work trip from the 5th through the 9th (what happens in Vegas… is a really boring and long-ass sales conference). After several flight delays, an almost-missed connection in Dallas, and a 15-minute sprint across the Dallas/Ft. Worth airport (no, seriously… the ENTIRE airport!), I finally arrived in Miami at 11:30pm EST on December 9th.

I was really looking forward to my Orlando/DisneyWorld weekend coming up on Friday the 14th. It was going to be my one and only vacation for 2007. That quickly became the "worst trip ever."

And that was the catalyst that made me miss Christmas 2007. You can read all about it HERE. (On the plus side, I can now fit back into my favorite jeans!)

And afterwards you can leave me really sweet, heartfelt comments because you feel sorry for me. It’s okay; I’m down with the "pity party."
