Try a new photo edit.
I chose this photo of the BF and I at Ft Myers Beach, FL:
I used Photoscape to convert it to a vintage-y B&W, and added one of the vignetting actions to create a soft frame around the edges. Then I used Photoshop to adjust the curves a bit and do some fine touchups. This is the end result:
